On Saturday, June 24, 2023, LWVCN’s own Student Intern Dahlia Solomon was a leader in her Syosset High School rally for March for Our Lives, an antigun movement. Students from several High Schools and advocacy groups collaborated in the effort, including the Allegiance of Youth Leadership in the United States AYLFUS, Moms Demand Action. We were also treated to a musical performance by Healing with Music. The LWVCN complimented the event with voter registration and signed up several high school students as voters that day. Voices are important but votes are power.
